They are in charge of the schools that teach magic, and the professors of the Military Academy.

House Alviate has direct connections to the Prince's family tree, and may have the best claim for the Throne now that the Prince is dead.

House Alviate have a special force of Knights, the Twelve Dragons, who ride griffins and watch the city from the air. They are led by Knight-Commander Lord Valerius de Corano, who rides a dragon.
