1 - Game Flow

Days

There will be 6 rounds (called Days), each having Dawn and Dusk.

DECIDE

(No talking)

  1. Gather around the map of Ercavica. Pick a District, subject to Movement rules.

  2. On the count of 3, put your finger on the District you want to visit within 3 spaces of where you last visited (Borsco will adjust your District if there is overlap).
    As you put your finger on your chosen District, reveal any necessary Faction Permits and Gold.

JOURNEY

(You may make brief trades or deals with other players at a Faction Table)

  1. Walk to the Faction table that your chosen District is in.

  2. Turn over and read the Encounter Card. Choose the Action (Prowl, Wreck, or Interrogate) that you want to attempt the Encounter with.

  3. Roll a d20 and add the relevant Action modifier on your Species Card.

  4. Open the Target Number (TN) to see if you passed or failed the Encounter.

  5. PASS: collect 5 gold, and a Trace token from District.
    FAIL: collect 2 gold, and a Trace token from District.

  6. Look at your Trace token secretly, and keep it hidden as you walk back to the map area.
    Trace tokens are either a token of Fortune, or a token of Tragedy.

  1. Borsco will call pairs up. Each thief in the pair will put their Trace token in a bag.

  2. Borsco will reveal both tokens.
    If both tokens are Fortune, both thieves earn the Clue for the District they visited.
    If there is at least 1 Tragedy, neither thief gets a Clue.

  3. One of the thieves might die. If this happens, they do not get a Clue.

  4. Both thieves mark the results of their District on the map.

  5. Each thief with a Clue posts it on the Clue board.

PARLEY

  1. Borsco will set a timer for open discussion.

  2. Discuss amongst your fellow thieves: Posted Clues, suspicious behavior, and possible motivations.

  3. Make deals, trades, or purchases with Borsco or other thieves.
    You should be thinking about which District you want to go to next.

BRIEFING

  1. Borsco will set a short timer.

  2. Walk to your Faction's table.

  3. Discuss with your Faction partner what you've discovered and where you intend to move, and make trades as necessary.

  4. Borsco will walk to each table and see who you think is most suspicious (write on a notepad).

You should get back at least 16 Gold per day to make sure The Honest Trick's costs are covered.)

Mole Vote

At the end of the 6th day, Borsco will call for a vote.

If a Mole is discovered, Borsco and the other thieves will run them through. 🗡️
