9 - Borsco

Borsco is perhaps too happy to answer any lore questions you might have, but it may or may not help you solve the mystery!

Attempts on Borsco's Life

There have been 3 attempts to kill Borsco recently.
And there may be a 4th attempt to come!

Borsco will answer questions about these attempts, but if you're too nosy he may send you away to look in the city for answers.

Attempt 1:

"I was in Waterside, running late to meet up with a prospective new Thief, a young human woman with raven hair who I met at Poet's Way during a performance, when I saw a thick elf man with pink hair and beard.

The thug was carrying a strange and lumpy brown package, and I did not think much of it. But before I could reach the meeting point with our potential new Thief, the building exploded in front of my very eyes. Had I not been late, I would have been dead. I think the young woman set me up.

Later I realized I have seen this thug before! In acting as bodyguard to some nobles in Flowers. I ask myself- Borsco, what would a thug like that be doing in both places?"

Attempt 2

"I was at The Reservoir during a memorial festival for the Late Prince (the gods rest his celestial soul), when before I could react, an enchanted arrow flew from around the corner of a building and went to strike my heart!

Very luckily I was wearing my family amulet which is enchanted with arcane protection. The arrow bounced off of its magic wards and I escaped safely.

When I asked the Prince's guards, The Red Falcons, they told me that a similar assassination attempt was made up at North Block by a wanted man known as "Dumont".

With my many whisperers in this tempestuous mistress of a city, I have also heard tale of an exquisite arcane arrowsmith who lives over in Workhouses. It is possible the arrow came from his craftsmanship."

Attempt 3

"I went to a showing at the Opera, the Barber of Colville, and afterwards I was invited to a private dinner by two most unusual hosts.
The Prince's Red Falcons' High Commander Auta Velosa, who is a very intimidating and tall tiefling woman, and an Undead Countess of House Doretta, Sano Isemi de Bartolo, who looked like she had just stepped out of The Tombs.

I was invited to a beautiful estate in Slots where we discussed many pleasantries before finally getting to the point of their invite: They wanted insight on how to destroy the major Guilds from within, and they thought I might have special knowledge, being a guild leader myself. They offered much money, but of course I politely refused.

Once we were served dessert, they excused themselves, but I thought 'Borsco, are you really going let a beautiful Gelato like this go to waste?', but that was my mistake because after two bites I recognized it to be poison. I was able to stumble out and drink the antidote I had on me, but it left a very sour taste in my mouth."
